Practice Log and Efficiency
When you sit dow to practice today you need to come up with a short term goal (i.e. 4 measures if its a brand new song, played on both hands at a steady tempo, etc)
After that goal is created, you need to consider the steps that it will take for you to achieve that goal (i.e. perform with no rhythm, then add rhythm once the mechanics are figured out, etc)
You need to be as descriptive ass possible. When filling out your logs you MUST write more than one or two words. I want sentences (yes, plural, sentanceS)

Figuring out Triads: A Help Guide

Mid-Term From the day before break
We will go over the mid-Term tomorrow. We still have a few people that need to take the test.
Plan for the rest of the year
We only have 8 weeks left in the school year. For the rest of the year we will continue to refine our music theory knowledge and ear training skills (Very few new ideas will be added to our music theory lessons).
In terms of piano playing, we want to continue to develop our ability to play or advanced independent two-handed music. Your goal is to complete a minimum of one piece per week. We will also continue to work on our chord playing.
It's never too early to start to talk about the final exam. Your final exam will consist of a written portion and a playing portion. The written portion will be similar to the music theory mid-term. It will also include, piano playing and music reading concepts.
The playing portion will be a longer more advanced song. It will be passed out approx. two weeks before you are required to perform it.
Senior exams... We will talk on an individual basis.
