What is challenging about composing a song?
Composition project.... ask yourself, do you have.....
1. A chord progression written and recorded?
2. Did you add drums? Notate?
3. Bass Line?
5. Give it a name and title it?
6. Mix it down?

Here are some basic drum beats. What do you like? What fits your song? experiment....
Compose a drum beat and notate it on the following sheet
When your ready add it to your chord progression. If you can't play all of the parts at once, break it into its individual element
Name and spell (i.e. Root, 3rd, 5th) the three different spellings of chords.
Create and record your chord progression at metronome marking 110. When completed add a bass line using roots.
Do you still need to play your hook theory?
Create two, four measure chord progressions. Make sure to follow the rules of diatonic chord progressions (here is a link)
Only use roman numerals. You do not need to figure out the actual notes... yet

Practice figuring out rhythm from a hook theory sample. Write out the following rhythm line in music notation. Remember: The think line is a measure line and the thin grey line divides the measure into beats.
Go to Hook Theory and select a song to write out in music notation.
Once you choose a song, show it to me for final approval.
