Daily Assignment - Pop Song Suggestions for the Pops Concert
As you know, the pops concert in May is a concert for popular music. In the past, we always have each choir vote on a song to perform. Today, I am looking for your suggestions on what song you want to perform at the pops concert. Each student can submit up to two different song suggestions.

Rules and Suggestions
1. Must be school appropriate.
2. I must be able to find a choir arrangement of it.
3. Older songs make better choices. It is easier to find a choir arrangement and usually, the harmonies are better, making them more fun to sing.
4. Ask yourself "Do I want to here a choir sing this?" Sometimes songs are really great as solos, but not so great as a choir song. Usually rap falls into this category, though not always.
We are going to go forward with the virtual choir idea. Here are the assignments:
Bella Armonia, Chorale, Treble Choir, and Ancora Soprano/Alto - Stand Together
Bass Ensemble and Ancora Tenor/Bass - Viva Tutti
Ancora - A Silence Haunts Me
Today's practice is to continue to memorize and to be thinking musically. Its not enough to be just okay. You must be PERFECTLY in tune at all times in order for the mix to work.
Mr. Baglione is cleaning his place today. And whenever I clean, or cook, I'm listening to the one and only Frank Sinatra. Check out his 1956 recording of "I've Got the World on a String."
Have ideas for a daily listening.... let me know so I can share with people.
